June 13, 1805 – The Lewis and Clark expedition reaches the Great Falls of the Missouri River.
June 14, 1775 – Congress authorizes the formation of the Continental Army.
June 15, 1775 – Congress places George Washington in command of the Continental Army.
June 16, 1858 – Abraham Lincoln gives his “House Divided” speech in Springfield, Illinois.
June 17, 1775 – Patriot and British troops fight the Battle of Bunker Hill near Boston.
June 18, 1928 – Suffragist Susan B. Anthony is fined $100 for trying to vote in the 1872 presidential election (a fine she refuses to pay).
